A little about us...

Small Beginnings

Philip Lally Ltd is a family run business established in 1976 and has become a leading building contractor offering all aspects of building work. We began specialising in bar fitting and public houses and have progressed over the years into a multitude of areas including nursing homes, shop fittings, houses and apartments, schools and offices. We offer a complete design and build with help from our joinery workshop producing bespoke products from items as small as trellis panels and screens through to complete bars, back fittings and specialist counters.

We can offer a complete service to our clients including joinery, building, design and building, mechanical and electrical installation, decoration and soft furnishings. All of which have been perfected through our many years of successful operations. Our team of directors, project managers and time served tradesmen ensure a well-organised project from start to finish, that will not only deliver on time but also on budget, resulting in a successful outcome for all parties involved.

We are members of the National House Building Council, the Federation of Master Builders and are accredited by Construction Line and CHAS. We ensure our compliance with all health and safety guidelines by employing a professional Health and Safety expert to inspect our sites and keep all our staff up to date with current legislation. The majority of our staff have been employed for many years, which enables us to provide continuity in the quality of our work and excellent staff relations.

Over the years our service has evolved and improved, and we have won several awards from national corporations including national contractors special merit awards. Geographically our contracts have been widespread across the length and breadth of the country.

Project Management

Our dedicated team have the ability and resources to efficiently manage a project from start to finish. Our long-standing dedication to the industry has allowed us to identify new elements of a project. Our knowledge of the industry has provided us with the opportunity to be in a position to fully assess a project whilst factoring in potential drawbacks that may arise before they occur, thus allowing plans to be developed to alleviate or prevent its effects on the project.

We pride ourselves on the accuracy and breadth of the quotations that we can provide. Our 43 years of expertise in the industry has allowed us to make invaluable connections with a wide range of business allowing us to provide better quotations. Our experience also allows us to suggest how a project can be improved in ways other contractors may fail to bring to your attention.

Design and Build

We have completed a wide range of projects that have enabled us to produce the designs and carry the project forward to begin the execution of the agreed plans. In allowing us to do this we ensure that the designs are to the highest quality whilst maintaining the creative use of sustainable materials to produce a highly commended piece of craftsmanship.

Insurance Works

We have completed many restoration projects both for private clients and insurance companies particularly in response to fire, flood and vehicle impact damage. These range from minor repairs to complete rebuild and refurbishment works.

Purpose Made Joinery

We have the facilities to offer a bespoke joinery service-producing products from items as small as trellis panels and screens through to complete bars, back fittings and specialist counters with traditional oak framed Orangery.

The Green Man

The Green Man, Cambridge, saw a two-week transformation giving the venue a "modern, open and stylish makeover; though still ensuring to retain its traditional and medieval features". The "impressive" attention to detail by our team ensured that we were able to create a relaxed country atmosphere through the use of rustic wooden beams, plush cushioned chairs and a light crackling fire. Wavendon Arms Mitchells & Butlers
Wavendon Arms

The Wavendon Arms, Milton Keynes, was transformed from a "country pub experience to a premium restaurant and bar". The entrance sports an antiquated brass finish and you will soon notice the careful selection of striking artwork, creating a unique talking point. The bar area is finished with a "bespoke concaved tile" section beneath a marble top that "oozes quality". See the article here.
